The first cohort of Cyber Secure Pakistan has been officially finalized in collaboration with IBA CICT Karachi, marking a structured step in advancing hands on cybersecurity training initiatives in the country. The program has selected 50 participants who will now take part in an immersive cybersecurity bootcamp designed to strengthen practical skills in cyber defence and real world security operations. The initiative is part of a broader effort to build technical capacity in cybersecurity through structured, experience based learning environments supported by academic and industry collaboration.
The selected participants will undergo training at the IBA campus, where state of the art facilities will be used to deliver a practical learning experience focused on cybersecurity operations. The bootcamp is designed to provide exposure to real world cyber defence scenarios, enabling participants to develop skills relevant to modern security environments. The training approach emphasizes applied learning, where participants engage directly with tools, techniques, and operational practices used in cybersecurity domains. This hands on format is intended to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and operational execution in security environments.
Cyber Secure Pakistan represents a multi cohort initiative, with this first batch serving as the initial phase of a larger training rollout. The program will continue with additional cohorts as part of a long term capacity building plan, which includes a total of 1,000 training seats sponsored by APNIC Foundation. This structured expansion highlights a sustained investment in cybersecurity education and workforce development, aiming to increase the number of trained professionals capable of supporting security operations across different sectors. The initiative also reflects growing focus on strengthening digital defence capabilities through scalable training models.
Participants selected for the program will receive detailed onboarding information, including their schedule and venue details, directly via email. The communication process ensures that all logistical arrangements are shared with participants ahead of the training phase, allowing for smooth onboarding into the bootcamp environment. The Cyber Secure Pakistan initiative continues to position itself as a foundational program aimed at building technical expertise and strengthening cybersecurity readiness through practical training delivery in collaboration with academic institutions and international support partners.
