COMMTEL has successfully conducted a cybersecurity tabletop exercise at PSO aimed at strengthening cyber resilience, improving incident response readiness, and enhancing cross functional coordination during potential cyber incidents. The exercise brought together key departments across PSO, including teams from Security Operations Center, Information Technology, Operational Technology, Network, Compliance, SAP, Design, and Systems, creating a collaborative environment focused on preparedness against evolving cybersecurity threats. Officials involved in the exercise emphasized the importance of simulation driven activities in helping organizations evaluate operational readiness and strengthen internal coordination before real world security incidents occur.
The tabletop exercise involved participation from more than 20 PSO team members and focused on testing organizational preparedness through scenario based discussions and coordinated response planning. According to COMMTEL, the session was designed to sharpen communication channels, decision making capabilities, and response procedures during potential cybersecurity incidents. By involving representatives from multiple operational and technical functions, the exercise aimed to help teams better understand their individual responsibilities while improving collective coordination during complex cyber related situations. Security professionals increasingly consider tabletop exercises an important component of cybersecurity preparedness, as they allow organizations to assess response frameworks, identify communication gaps, and improve operational efficiency in a controlled setting.
Cyber resilience continues to be a growing priority for organizations managing large scale operational environments, particularly those supporting critical infrastructure and enterprise systems. Exercises of this nature help strengthen institutional readiness by encouraging collaboration between technical and non technical teams responsible for maintaining business continuity and responding to disruptions. During cybersecurity incidents, effective coordination between SOC teams, compliance functions, network administrators, IT specialists, and operational technology personnel can significantly influence how quickly organizations identify, contain, and respond to threats. COMMTEL highlighted that collaborative preparedness efforts are essential for ensuring teams are equipped to manage real world security challenges while maintaining operational continuity and minimizing disruption.
The exercise also reflected growing awareness among organizations regarding the importance of proactive cybersecurity planning through practical engagement and cross departmental coordination. Participants from PSO actively engaged throughout the session, contributing to discussions surrounding cyber incident response, communication procedures, and operational readiness. COMMTEL acknowledged the involvement and engagement of participating PSO teams, noting that such collaborative activities play a valuable role in strengthening organizational resilience and improving preparedness against increasingly sophisticated cyber risks. The initiative reinforces the importance of structured cybersecurity simulations as organizations continue investing in incident response planning, operational security readiness, and institutional resilience frameworks.
