Air University Cyber Security Society Hosts Cybersecurity Awareness Session On Attack And Defence

Air University Cyber Security Society, through its Women in Cyber Club, successfully concluded a cybersecurity awareness session titled “The Dual Perspective: Attack & Defence”, bringing together students and cybersecurity enthusiasts to explore the relationship between offensive and defensive security practices. Hosted in collaboration with National Cyber Security Academy (NCSA), the session was led by Noor Ul Ain, Lead of the Women in Cyber Club, and focused on helping participants understand how cyber threats evolve and how effective defence strategies can be developed in response. The initiative formed part of the society’s ongoing efforts to promote cybersecurity education, encourage practical learning, and strengthen awareness among students preparing for careers in the digital security field. Air University Cyber Security Society continues to organize technical and awareness driven activities that support the development of cybersecurity talent while promoting a stronger cyber aware community.

During the session, participants explored both the offensive and defensive dimensions of cybersecurity, providing a balanced perspective on how modern cyber incidents unfold and how organizations can improve their security posture. Discussions highlighted the importance of understanding attacker techniques, methodologies, and common threat scenarios to build stronger and more resilient defensive capabilities. By examining cyber threats from both viewpoints, attendees gained a broader understanding of the security landscape and the role that proactive planning, technical knowledge, and continuous learning play in protecting digital systems. The session encouraged participants to think critically about cybersecurity challenges while reinforcing the value of adopting security practices that support prevention, detection, and effective response to evolving cyber risks. This educational approach reflects the growing emphasis on practical cybersecurity awareness as institutions prepare students for an increasingly complex digital environment.

The event was presented by Noor Ul Ain in her role as Lead of the Women in Cyber Club, creating an interactive learning environment where participants engaged with concepts related to cyber attack techniques and defence mechanisms. The session also highlighted the importance of continuous skill development and collaboration within the cybersecurity community. Educational initiatives of this nature provide students with opportunities to connect theoretical knowledge with practical security concepts while encouraging greater participation in cybersecurity awareness programmes. Air University Cyber Security Society has continued to promote technical workshops, awareness campaigns, and specialized learning activities through its various clubs and teams, including its Women in Cyber Club, which focuses on expanding cybersecurity knowledge and encouraging broader participation in the field.

National Cyber Security Academy at Air University serves as a national institution dedicated to advancing cybersecurity education, research, and capacity building in Pakistan through specialized academic programmes and industry engagement.
