Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA) has launched a month-long Cyber Security Awareness Program during October 2026 in collaboration with security experts and industry partners to promote digital safety and awareness across Pakistan. The initiative, organized under the vision of building a Cyber Secure Pakistan by 2030, aims to engage students, professionals, communities, businesses and public sector organizations through awareness sessions, workshops and educational activities focused on responsible technology use and online protection.
The Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026 campaign began on October 1 with an inauguration ceremony organized jointly by PISA and Security Experts. PISA President Ammar Jaffri invited cybersecurity professionals, organizations and industry stakeholders to participate in the national awareness drive and contribute towards strengthening cybersecurity knowledge across communities. The month-long program includes initiatives covering cybersecurity awareness for school students, women and girls, senior citizens, business communities and government organizations. PISA has encouraged cybersecurity companies and experts to come forward as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts to support the Cyber Secure Pakistan Vision 2030. Throughout October, PISA has planned multiple awareness activities, including cybersecurity workshops, seminars, training programs, competitions for students and professionals, institutional sessions and community outreach initiatives. These activities focus on topics such as cyber safety, digital responsibility, online threats, privacy protection and secure technology practices. The organization aims to provide practical guidance that helps individuals better understand digital risks and adopt safer online habits. PISA has also announced recognition certificates for experts and organizations contributing as volunteers to the national cybersecurity awareness efforts, with certificates planned to be issued on March 23, 2027.
As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026, PISA has collaborated with several organizations to conduct specialized programs across different locations. A cybersecurity awareness program held at Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur covered topics including cybersecurity fundamentals, social engineering, AI safety and deepfakes, WhatsApp and social media security, banking and gaming safety, parental controls, network security, IoT device protection, passwords, password managers and multi-factor authentication. The sessions also incorporated discussions around data privacy and best practices for maintaining secure digital identities. The campaign also included CyberWalk 2026 community events and online webinar sessions organized through CyberWalk.pk. The initiatives featured workshops, awareness walks and a four-part webinar series focused on password security, multi-factor authentication, cyber scams in Pakistan, cybercrime reporting procedures, digital rights and governance. These sessions aimed to provide accessible cybersecurity education to the wider public while encouraging discussions around digital safety challenges.
PISA, in collaboration with Security Experts and Darktrace, also organized a dedicated awareness program on October 25 featuring sessions focused on cybersecurity for girls, youth, senior citizens, education and careers, digital citizenship, phishing, scams, data privacy, social media safety, cybersecurity tools and community protection. The program included expert discussions, panel sessions, appreciation certificates and networking opportunities to encourage greater participation in cybersecurity awareness efforts. Through Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026, PISA continues to emphasize the importance of collective action in creating a safer digital environment. By bringing together cybersecurity professionals, educational institutions, businesses and communities, the association aims to improve digital awareness and empower individuals with the knowledge required to navigate online platforms securely. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity culture and support a digitally responsible Pakistan.
