Pakistan National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) has officially launched the National CISO Consortium during CISO Roundtable 2026 in Karachi, introducing a national cybersecurity collaboration initiative that brings together Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and senior cybersecurity leaders from across the country. The Consortium has been established as a structured and trusted platform designed to strengthen cooperation among cybersecurity professionals while supporting Pakistan broader cyber resilience efforts. By connecting experienced security leaders from different sectors, the initiative aims to encourage the exchange of expertise and practical knowledge that can contribute to national cybersecurity priorities and the protection of the country’s digital ecosystem.
The National CISO Consortium has been created to enable Pakistan senior cybersecurity community to work collectively on national cybersecurity objectives through structured engagement and professional collaboration. Members will have the opportunity to contribute to cybersecurity policies, security frameworks, capability development, capacity building initiatives, and other efforts intended to strengthen national cyber resilience. The platform is also expected to facilitate the sharing of professional experience, critical insights, and emerging threat intelligence among members, allowing organizations to collectively address evolving cybersecurity challenges while supporting Pakistan national cyber mission. Through this collaborative approach, the Consortium seeks to transform industry expertise into practical contributions that support national cybersecurity capabilities.
Speaking during the launch, DG National CERT Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, highlighted the importance of moving beyond isolated organizational cybersecurity strategies and working toward a unified national cybersecurity ecosystem. He emphasized the need to leverage the combined expertise of Pakistan cybersecurity leadership to help define national priorities, strengthen collective defense capabilities, and develop practical responses to emerging cyber threats. According to National CERT, the Consortium will provide an environment where experienced CISOs and cybersecurity leaders can collaborate on strategic issues while contributing their knowledge to initiatives that enhance the country’s overall cybersecurity preparedness.
The launch of the National CISO Consortium represents an important step toward institutionalizing collaboration among Pakistan senior cybersecurity leadership and aligning industry expertise with national cybersecurity objectives. National CERT stated that the initiative reflects its continued commitment to building a more coordinated, capable, and resilient digital Pakistan by encouraging active participation from the country’s cybersecurity professionals. Membership is open to CISOs and senior cybersecurity leaders across Pakistan, providing them with an opportunity to collaborate, advise on national initiatives, support cybersecurity capacity development, and contribute professional expertise toward strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity landscape.
