Applications for the upcoming AI Learning Series hosted by Women in CyberSecurity are set to close tomorrow, with organisers encouraging eligible cybersecurity professionals to apply before the deadline. The specialised programme is available exclusively to WiCyS members, including both domestic and international participants, and is designed to help mid to senior level professionals strengthen their understanding of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. As AI technologies continue to reshape digital security environments, the programme seeks to equip participants with practical knowledge and strategic insight needed to address evolving challenges linked to AI adoption and cyber risk management.
According to programme details shared by WiCyS, the AI Learning Series consists of six expert led sessions that aim to bridge the gap between emerging artificial intelligence capabilities and real world cybersecurity applications. The training has been developed for professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in securing AI powered systems, understanding governance structures, and managing risks associated with machine learning technologies. Organisers stated that the sessions will explore multiple areas, including AI fundamentals, governance, risk management, and secure product development practices, helping participants understand how cybersecurity strategies are evolving alongside advancements in automation and intelligent technologies. The initiative comes at a time when organisations globally are increasing investments in AI driven tools, making cyber resilience and secure implementation a growing priority for technology and security teams.
The programme also places strong emphasis on practical learning and peer collaboration. Participants are expected to gain actionable cybersecurity skills that can be immediately applied within workplace environments, particularly in securing AI and machine learning systems as well as assessing risks associated with third party AI tools and technologies. WiCyS noted that the learning series offers direct access to a professional cohort, allowing participants to engage with industry peers and mentors while exchanging perspectives on emerging cybersecurity concerns. In addition to structured sessions, the programme aims to provide continuing resources intended to help professionals remain informed about changing threat landscapes and technological developments influencing cybersecurity operations.
Organisers described the learning series as a high commitment programme, requiring complete attendance, active participation, and camera engagement throughout all sessions to ensure collaborative learning and consistent involvement. WiCyS also announced an additional incentive for participants who successfully complete the full programme. A total of 150 participants who attend all sessions will be randomly selected to receive additional training opportunities through SANS, while 10 individuals will gain access to SEC411 training. By combining expert guidance, peer engagement, and applied cybersecurity learning, the initiative reflects growing efforts within the cybersecurity community to improve readiness around artificial intelligence and its expanding role in digital defence and organisational security practices.
