CyberSecure Pakistan has completed its third cohort by taking its Cyber Bootcamp to Sultana Foundation in Alipur, Islamabad, expanding access to specialized cybersecurity training beyond traditional technology and university hubs. The initiative focused on providing practical cybersecurity learning opportunities to communities where access to advanced security education can often be limited. The latest cohort highlighted the importance of building a skilled cybersecurity workforce by creating opportunities for young individuals to gain hands on experience with modern security tools and techniques.
The third cohort of CyberSecure Pakistan was particularly focused on encouraging participation from young women in cybersecurity. Participants engaged with different areas of the field, including offensive and defensive security, detection methods, digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), along with practical real world exercises. The strong involvement of women throughout the program was highlighted as an important outcome, showing increased interest among young women in exploring cybersecurity as a potential career path. The program aimed to provide participants with exposure to the skills and knowledge required to understand cybersecurity challenges and develop practical solutions.
The cybersecurity sector continues to face a global shortage of skilled professionals, while women remain underrepresented in the field. CyberSecure Pakistan emphasized that improving diversity in cybersecurity requires efforts to begin at an early stage by creating access to training, developing technical capabilities, and helping young women recognize cybersecurity as a career they can pursue. Through initiatives like the Cyber Bootcamp, participants are provided with opportunities to explore different areas of cybersecurity and gain practical understanding of industry related skills before entering professional environments.
Yottabyte stated that its goal is to contribute toward building a deeper and more diverse cybersecurity talent pool in Pakistan that can support the country digital resilience and participate in the global cybersecurity workforce.
