Throughout his career, Abidi has worked across the banking, media, and technology sectors, developing strategies that combine technical implementation with long term risk management and regulatory alignment. His experience includes designing security programmes that protect enterprise assets while ensuring compliance with internationally recognized frameworks and standards. According to the announcement, he has successfully implemented governance and compliance frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and COBIT 5 for major institutions. These frameworks support organizations in strengthening information security, improving governance practices, and managing operational risk through structured controls and internationally accepted security standards. His experience also extends to aligning business objectives with technology governance, helping organizations establish security programmes that support both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Abidi also brings extensive expertise in cloud security and enterprise infrastructure, with experience designing secure network architectures, segmented virtual networks, and automated infrastructure environments across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. His background includes managing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, ethical hacking initiatives, and Level 3 incident response activities aimed at identifying and addressing cybersecurity risks before they affect business operations. In addition, he has worked with a broad range of security technologies and governance platforms including OWASP, ITIL, IBM AppScan, Checkmarx, Veracode, HP Fortify, Nessus, and Burp Suite.
