Prof Dr Zunera Jalil Leads First National Cyber Security Curriculum Review Committee Meeting At HEC

Prof Dr Zunera Jalil, Dean of National Cyber Security Academy at Air University, has been selected as Convener of the First National Cyber Security Curriculum Review Committee Meeting hosted by Higher Education Commission at its Regional Office in Peshawar. The two day session brought together leading academic experts, policymakers, and sector stakeholders to examine and strengthen the national cybersecurity curriculum framework in line with emerging technological and security requirements.

The meeting focused on reviewing existing academic structures, identifying gaps in course content, and aligning cybersecurity programs with evolving industry demands and global standards. Participants engaged in detailed deliberations on curriculum design, practical skill development, research integration, and capacity building to ensure that graduates are equipped to address complex digital security challenges. The forum served as a platform for collaboration between universities, regulatory authorities, and subject matter specialists, reflecting a coordinated approach to advancing cybersecurity education across Pakistan.

Prof Dr Ghalib, Chair Department of Cyber Security at Air University, also participated in the proceedings and contributed his academic perspective to the discussions. His input, alongside other experts, supported the objective of building a comprehensive and standardized academic roadmap for institutions offering cybersecurity degrees and certifications. The review process aimed to ensure consistency in learning outcomes, promote hands on training components, and encourage research driven instruction within higher education institutions. By engaging multiple stakeholders, HEC sought to develop a curriculum framework that responds effectively to both national security priorities and the needs of the digital economy.
