A cybersecurity solution developed by a team of young innovators in Peshawar has gained significant attention after surviving hacking attempts by some of the world’s top ethical hackers. The software, named ‘Slash,’ was built by Security Wall, a Pakistani cybersecurity startup aiming to introduce homegrown solutions to complex digital threats.
At recent live demo sessions hosted in Lahore and Peshawar, over 30 ethical hackers from platforms such as HackerOne, Synack, and Bugcrowd were invited to test the software’s resilience. Despite multiple penetration attempts, none of the participants were able to breach Slash, marking a notable achievement for the team behind the product. According to Security Wall’s spokesperson Babar Akhnazada, the challenge was designed to evaluate the software’s defense capabilities in real-world simulated conditions and to validate its performance against global cybersecurity benchmarks.
Slash stands out due to its real-time breach detection and immediate response capabilities. While many security tools typically require several hours or days to flag a compromise, Slash is engineered to identify and respond to threats instantly, minimizing the risk of widespread damage and loss of data. Akhnazada emphasized that the delay in threat detection among conventional solutions often leaves critical systems vulnerable for extended periods, something Slash aims to counter through automation and predictive defense.
Another prominent feature of Slash is its dark web monitoring module. This functionality enables the software to scan dark web forums and marketplaces for traces of compromised data from client systems. In the event that sensitive information such as login credentials or financial records surfaces online, the system generates an instant alert to the affected organization, empowering them to take corrective action like updating passwords or initiating incident response procedures.
In light of the growing threat to digital assets across platforms—ranging from banking and social media to streaming services like Netflix and Amazon—Security Wall is promoting Slash as a proactive defense tool. The startup is currently offering its services to government institutions and corporate clients. However, there are plans to eventually roll out the software for public use, enabling broader access to real-time cybersecurity protection.
The software’s successful performance during open testing with global ethical hackers is being regarded as a milestone for Pakistan’s cybersecurity capabilities. It not only demonstrates the technical potential within the local tech ecosystem but also positions Security Wall as a rising player in the regional cyber defense landscape. Slash has been designed to integrate seamlessly into Security Operations Centers (SOCs), offering organizations a powerful layer of threat detection, data protection, and breach visibility.
