Pakistan is set to launch the National Cyber Security Authority by next year, marking a significant step towards bolstering the country’s cybersecurity infrastructure. The new authority will be responsible for ensuring that organizations deploy security-certified infrastructures to prevent data breaches and cyber attacks.
According to Dr. Haider Abbas, Director General/Head of National Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT), the National CERT will be transformed into the National Cyber Security Authority of Pakistan by 2025. A lab will be established to certify that organizations’ hardware and software meet stringent security standards before deployment.

During his keynote address at the Information Security Conference by Total Communications, held in Karachi last week, Dr. Haider emphasized that lab certification will become mandatory in the near future to ensure foolproof security measures.
