The inaugural meeting of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on “Cyber Crimes & Security” took place on July 26th, 2024, at the FPCCI Head Office in Karachi and via Zoom. Convened by Mr. Muhammad Munaf Majeed, the meeting aimed to outline the committee’s objectives, finalize the meeting calendar for 2024 and 2025, and set direction to achieve the committee’s goals and Terms of Reference (TORs).
Deputy Conveners Mr. Muhammad Azam Mughal and Mr. Owais Admani led the discussion on behalf of the Convener. The committee identified key objectives, including defining the committee’s goals in line with the cyber crime and information security landscape of Pakistan. New age information security skills and industry-academia linkages remain a strong focus for the committee. Additionally, devising a campaign plan for national-level awareness on cybercrimes and data privacy, with the help of member organisations and public-private partnerships is another key focal point.
The meeting was attended by a large number of committee members, demonstrating a strong commitment to addressing cyber crimes and security challenges.
The committee’s efforts aim to support Pakistani businesses in navigating the complexities of cyber security and promoting a safer digital landscape.
