National CERT Conducts Cyber Care for Children (CCC) Session at TMUC Islamabad

In a continued effort to promote cybersecurity awareness among students, the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) successfully conducted a training session under its Cyber Care for Children (CCC) initiative at The Millennium Universal College (TMUC), H-11/4, Islamabad. This initiative is part of National CERT’s broader Cybersecurity Capacity Building Program, aimed at equipping students, educators, and parents with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely.

The session was led by Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building at National CERT, who provided an in-depth overview of cyber threats, online safety, and responsible digital behavior. He highlighted key areas of concern for young internet users, including password security, safe browsing practices, phishing awareness, and account protection. With cyber risks growing rapidly, the session emphasized practical strategies that students can adopt to protect their online presence and mitigate security threats.

A major focus of the session was social media privacy and digital etiquette, guiding students on how to secure their profiles, avoid oversharing personal information, and engage responsibly on online platforms. Security risks in online gaming and smartphone usage were also discussed, with recommendations on minimizing exposure to cyber threats in digital entertainment. Additionally, cyberbullying and online harassment were addressed, equipping students with awareness, intervention strategies, and resources for seeking help in case of online abuse.

The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who shared personal experiences and posed insightful questions about cybersecurity challenges in their daily lives. Their engagement underscored the growing need for cybersecurity education in an era where digital interactions have become an integral part of everyday activities.

National CERT reaffirmed its commitment to fostering digital resilience among youth through the Cyber Care for Children (CCC) initiative, with more sessions planned across various educational institutions nationwide. The initiative aims to instill cyber awareness from an early age, ensuring that young internet users can navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

As cyber threats continue to evolve, educational programs like CCC play a crucial role in strengthening digital literacy and security awareness. By providing students with the right tools and knowledge, National CERT is taking proactive steps to create a safer digital environment for future generations.

With cybersecurity education becoming an essential component of modern learning, such initiatives pave the way for a more secure, informed, and responsible digital community.
