The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan and National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) have launched a joint cybersecurity awareness campaign in observance of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026. The month-long initiative aims to promote cybersecurity best practices, strengthen cyber resilience, and encourage a culture of responsible digital behavior across Pakistan. The collaboration highlights the growing importance of cybersecurity awareness as individuals, businesses, and institutions continue to rely on digital platforms and connected technologies.
The inauguration ceremony of the campaign was held at NTC Headquarters, where senior officials and representatives from both organizations participated. The event was attended by Dr. Haider Abbas, TI, Director General National CERT, and Maj Gen (R) Ali Farhan, HI(M), Managing Director NTC. During the ceremony, both officials emphasized the increasing need for cybersecurity awareness in an interconnected digital environment. They highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration, proactive cyber risk management, and continuous awareness efforts to help individuals and organizations better understand evolving cyber risks and adopt safer online practices.
The joint campaign focuses on educating users about emerging cyber threats, secure online behavior, data protection measures, and essential cybersecurity practices. Throughout October 2026, National CERT and NTC will conduct coordinated awareness activities designed to encourage preventive security measures and promote responsible digital citizenship. The initiative will also support efforts to help users identify potential risks, improve their understanding of cybersecurity challenges, and take appropriate steps to protect personal and organizational information.
As digital adoption continues to expand across Pakistan, cybersecurity awareness has become an important part of creating a secure and trusted technology environment. Organizations and individuals face increasing challenges related to data protection, online safety, and cyber risk management, making public awareness and knowledge-sharing essential components of national cyber resilience. Through this collaboration, National CERT and NTC aim to contribute toward building stronger cybersecurity practices among users and institutions while supporting a safer digital ecosystem. The campaign reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to promote cyber hygiene, strengthen preparedness, and encourage secure digital practices across Pakistan. By bringing together government technology organizations and awareness initiatives, the effort seeks to create greater understanding of cybersecurity responsibilities and help communities navigate the digital landscape with improved awareness and confidence.
