Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU), through its Center for Skills and Professional Development (CSPD), in collaboration with ISACA Karachi Chapter, has announced the launch of a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) training program aimed at developing advanced information security management skills among professionals and aspiring leaders in the cybersecurity field. The initiative is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and industry aligned expertise required to address modern information security challenges across organizations.
The training program will cover the four core CISM domains that form the foundation of information security management practices worldwide. These include Information Security Governance, Information Security Risk Management, Information Security Program, and Incident Management. Through these areas, participants will gain an understanding of how organizations establish governance structures, manage and reduce information security risks, implement security programs, and respond effectively to security incidents. The curriculum is intended to provide both strategic and operational perspectives, helping professionals strengthen their ability to support organizational security objectives and regulatory requirements.
According to the program details, participants will develop skills related to establishing and managing enterprise wide information security governance frameworks, identifying and mitigating information security risks, and developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security programs. The training will also focus on planning, establishing, and managing incident response and recovery processes, enabling attendees to improve organizational preparedness against security incidents. The program is targeted at Information Security Managers, cybersecurity professionals, security consultants, compliance officers, and IT professionals preparing for leadership responsibilities. It also welcomes academicians and faculty members working in the fields of information security and governance who wish to enhance their understanding of internationally recognized security management practices.
The course will be facilitated by Hussein Hassanali, Past President of ISACA Karachi Chapter, and Naushad Siddiqui, Secretary of ISACA Karachi Chapter. Organizers state that the involvement of experienced industry professionals is intended to provide participants with practical insights into governance, risk management, compliance, and security program administration. The orientation session has been scheduled for July 25, 2026, while regular classes will commence on August 1, 2026, and continue until August 29, 2026. Sessions will be conducted every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing working professionals with an opportunity to attend without disrupting their regular work schedules. The program fee has been set at PKR 65,000, exclusive of 3 percent SST. An early bird discount of 10 percent will be available for participants who complete their registration before November 10, 2025. Organizers have also noted that seats are limited and interested individuals are encouraged to complete the registration process within the announced timelines.
