The Ministry of Information Technology has issued a notification regarding the restoration of powers of the Federal Investigation Agencyโs (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing.
According to the notification, the laws governing the National Cyber Crimes and Investigation Agency have been repealed, and its powers have been transferred to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing.
Sources told ProPakistani that the National Cyber Crimes and Investigation Agency laws were repealed due to the agencyโs incomplete structure. Once the structure is complete, the agencyโs laws will be reinstated.
The FIA Cyber Crime Wing has been granted authority to take action against social media crimes. The National Cyber Crimes and Investigation Agency was established in 2023 to curb social media crimes.
