Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (PKCERT), under the Government of Pakistan, has launched the Executive Cybersecurity Leadership Program, a capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen national and organizational cybersecurity leadership. The program aims to develop strategic cyber resilience among decision-makers in both public and private sectors, aligning with Pakistan’s National Cybersecurity Framework and the broader Digital Pakistan Vision.
The initiative is targeted toward high-level executives, including heads of organizations, federal and provincial secretaries, chairpersons, CEOs, managing directors, and vice chancellors. By focusing on leadership-level readiness, the program intends to empower Pakistan’s top decision-makers with the expertise to guide cybersecurity strategy, manage risks, and cultivate a proactive security-aware culture across their organizations. Participants will engage in an intensive three-month program consisting of six full-day sessions, held fortnightly, to ensure a balanced learning approach that integrates both theory and practical insights. The program fee is PKR 100,000 per participant, inclusive of materials, lunch, and certification.
The Executive Cybersecurity Leadership Program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering essential areas such as Cyber Threat Landscape and Awareness, Governance and Accountability, Risk Management and Budgeting, Technology and Emerging Threats, Incident Response and Resilience, and Cybersecurity Leadership. These modules are designed to strengthen executive understanding of current and emerging cyber risks, foster accountability, and enhance crisis response capabilities. The goal is to create leaders capable of steering their organizations through an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape while maintaining operational resilience.
Organized by National CERT Pakistan in collaboration with leading academic and industry institutions including NUST, LUMS, Air University (AU), IBA, and top technology companies, the program reflects a unified national effort to elevate cybersecurity readiness at the executive level. The partnership ensures participants gain exposure to both cutting-edge academic research and real-world cybersecurity practices from industry experts. This collaboration reinforces PKCERT’s commitment to advancing Pakistan’s cyber defense posture through knowledge sharing and leadership development.
PKCERT’s Executive Cybersecurity Leadership Program underscores the importance of leadership-driven security governance in achieving a safer digital environment. Interested executives can register through the official PKCERT website, where additional details about the curriculum and registration process are available. The initiative embodies PKCERT’s ongoing mission to foster a secure and resilient cyberspace through education, collaboration, and strategic empowerment.
