The National CERT Headquarters successfully hosted the second session of its flagship initiative, “CyberSecureGov: Cyber Guidelines Initiative,” under the broader Cybersecurity Capacity Building Program. The initiative aims to equip government organizations with essential tools and strategies to safeguard their digital infrastructures against evolving cyber threats.
Participants from the National Heritage and Culture Division, Lok Virsa, Ministry of Communications, and Ministry of Commerce actively engaged in the session, which focused on strengthening cybersecurity frameworks through Security Posture Assessment and Security Posture Analysis. These approaches are critical for identifying vulnerabilities and enhancing defense mechanisms across public sector institutions.
Leading the session, Dr. Mehreen Afzal, Director GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), underscored the importance of comprehensive cybersecurity measures across government organizations. She presented the National CERT’s “Cybersecurity Implementation Guidelines,” offering actionable strategies to mitigate risks and maintain a proactive security posture.
Complementing her insights, Mr. Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, provided practical frameworks and methodologies to enhance institutional resilience against cyber threats. His detailed discourse on cybersecurity governance emphasized the need for strategic planning and capacity-building measures to tackle modern cyber risks effectively.
The “CyberSecureGov” initiative has established itself as a key platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and skill enhancement among public sector organizations. As additional sessions are planned, the National CERT remains committed to strengthening Pakistan’s cybersecurity readiness and fostering a resilient digital ecosystem.
