NCCIA Takes Action Against Suspected TikTok Based Visa Fraud Activity In Faisalabad

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has taken action against a suspect in Faisalabad in connection with an alleged fraud case involving Saudi Arabia visa advertisements shared through a TikTok account. According to NCCIA, the individual was involved in promoting visa related offers on the social media platform and allegedly collecting money from citizens through misleading claims. The agency stated that a case has been registered and investigations are underway to examine the details of the matter. NCCIA said the suspect allegedly used fabricated documents and transferred funds obtained through the activity into bank accounts with the involvement of other suspected individuals. The operation highlights the agency’s continued efforts to address online fraud cases involving misleading digital advertisements and schemes targeting citizens through social media platforms.

During the operation, NCCIA officials recovered two mobile phones, 10 suspected fake SIM cards, an Easypaisa account and an alleged merchant account. The agency said these items would support further investigation into the digital activities and financial transactions linked to the case. Authorities have been increasing monitoring of online platforms where fraudulent offers related to overseas employment, visas and financial opportunities are promoted. NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that strict legal action would be taken against individuals using social media platforms to target citizens through fake overseas job and visa offers. He also advised citizens to verify the authenticity of visa opportunities before making any payments and encouraged people to report suspicious accounts or activities to the relevant authorities.

NCCIA has highlighted that financial fraud remains one of the most frequently reported categories of cybercrime in Pakistan. According to agency statistics for 2026, financial fraud accounts for 48 percent of all complaints received by NCCIA, making it the most widely reported cybercrime category. The increasing use of social media platforms for communication and digital transactions has also created new channels for fraudulent activities, requiring greater public awareness and careful verification before sharing personal information or transferring money. Officials have repeatedly emphasized that citizens should remain cautious when responding to online advertisements, particularly those offering overseas employment, investment opportunities or other services requiring advance payments.

The latest action follows several other operations conducted by NCCIA against suspected cyber fraud networks across the country. Earlier in October, the agency carried out operations against multiple illegal call centers in Lahore and took action against hundreds of individuals linked to alleged activities including financial fraud, online harassment and other cyber related offences. In September, NCCIA, along with the Federal Investigation Agency, also conducted operations involving cases related to cyber fraud, financial scams, illegal money exchange and human trafficking across Punjab. Through continued investigations, public awareness initiatives and enforcement measures, NCCIA is focusing on reducing online fraud risks and improving protection for citizens using digital platforms. The agency has encouraged individuals to report suspicious online activities and verify digital offers before engaging in financial transactions.
