The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has unveiled detailed data on cybercrime incidents, shedding light on the number of complaints, investigations, and actions taken in the last five years.
The agency’s report states that it received approximately 663,000 cybercrime-related complaints. These complaints prompted the initiation of 73,825 inquiries to examine the reported incidents further.
Following detailed probes into these cases, the FIA registered 5,713 formal cases against alleged offenders. The investigations led to the arrest of over 7,000 individuals involved in various cybercriminal activities.
The report also highlights the outcomes of legal proceedings, revealing that 222 individuals were convicted for their involvement in cybercrime during this period.
