Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken two suspects into custody in connection with an alleged online gambling network linked to 11 companies that collectively recorded a credit turnover of nearly Rs120 billion, according to an official investigation report. FIA officials confirmed that operations are continuing to locate the remaining individuals named in the case as investigators examine the financial activities of multiple companies believed to have been used to facilitate suspected online gambling related transactions. Faryal Khan, Public Relations Officer to the FIA Director in Faisalabad, confirmed that the two individuals had been taken into custody and stated that further operations are underway. The investigation focuses on allegations involving online gambling, illegal financial transactions, and the reported use of corporate business accounts to move significant amounts of funds through various banking channels. Authorities are examining the financial records to establish the flow of transactions and determine the role of those associated with the companies involved.
According to FIR No. 32/2026, one of the individuals taken into custody owned three companies that together recorded an estimated credit turnover of approximately Rs47.78 billion. Investigators also allege that the second suspect developed and tested dummy websites that were reportedly used during the process of obtaining corporate payment accounts for the companies. The investigation further states that eight additional companies were registered under the names of only three individuals, with those entities recording a combined credit turnover exceeding Rs105 billion. Across all 11 companies, FIA reported approximately Rs119.93 billion in credit turnover and Rs118.80 billion in debit turnover. Officials clarified that these figures represent the overall volume of financial transactions processed through the accounts and should not be interpreted as funds personally retained by the individuals under investigation. Investigators further allege that the companies presented themselves as legitimate businesses involved in sectors such as e commerce, digital marketing, and construction while allegedly facilitating financial activity associated with online gambling platforms.
The investigation also identifies several online gaming platforms, including U7777 Game, TD777 Game, 89F Game, and EPIWIN, which investigators believe were connected to the financial transactions under review. According to the FIR, approximately Rs8.586 billion was received through five branchless collection accounts across nearly 10.49 million transactions. Investigators are examining how funds moved through multiple banking channels before reaching other accounts and are also reviewing allegations that certain financial settlements were conducted through unauthorized hawala and hundi networks as well as USDT cryptocurrency arrangements. The report further alleges that two suspects proposed a local payment mechanism for a Chinese associate described as an international agent connected with online gambling platforms. Authorities are also reviewing an alleged profit sharing arrangement under which the individuals reportedly generated earnings ranging from Rs100 million to Rs450 million over the course of approximately one year. These allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial determination.
FIA Director General stated that a dedicated committee comprising agency officers has been established to conduct a comprehensive investigation into every aspect of the case. The committee has been tasked with examining financial records, digital evidence, and the broader structure of the alleged network to determine its scale and identify all individuals connected to the investigation. The agency has reiterated that efforts are continuing to locate the remaining suspects while legal proceedings move forward. According to FIA, the case has been registered against eight individuals under Sections 4, 5, and 23 of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, along with Sections 420, 468, and 471 of Pakistan Penal Code. Authorities maintain that the investigation is ongoing and that further findings will depend on the examination of financial records, digital evidence, and other material collected during the course of the inquiry.
