The UAE Cyber Security Council and Dell Technologies have announced the launch of a dedicated Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Abu Dhabi, marking a new initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s cybersecurity capabilities and supporting its vision of building a secure, resilient and globally competitive digital economy. The new center was unveiled during the Make it in the Emirates forum in Abu Dhabi and represents a collaboration focused on advancing national cyber resilience through technology, research, skills development and innovation. According to the announcement, the facility will make use of advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and cloud computing to improve real time threat detection and response capabilities while supporting the country’s long term cybersecurity objectives.
The Cybersecurity Center of Excellence will also focus on developing cybersecurity talent through advanced training programmes and cyber simulation exercises designed to strengthen national expertise and help address the growing cybersecurity skills gap. Alongside workforce development, the collaboration between UAE Cyber Security Council and Dell Technologies aims to accelerate cybersecurity research and development while providing startups with opportunities to bring locally developed cybersecurity solutions to market. The initiative is expected to contribute to a stronger innovation ecosystem by encouraging the creation of new security technologies and supporting businesses with improved digital protection. According to the organizations, the project will also create benefits for public and private sector entities by promoting a more secure digital environment, increasing trust in online services and strengthening data protection across multiple industries.
The partnership also supports the deployment of advanced cybersecurity technologies to protect the UAE’s critical infrastructure while reinforcing the country’s position as a growing technology and innovation hub. By combining Dell Technologies’ expertise across hardware, cloud platforms and enterprise technologies with the strategic direction of UAE Cyber Security Council, the initiative seeks to establish a comprehensive framework for developing local cybersecurity capabilities and preparing skilled professionals to operate advanced security systems. The collaboration aligns with the UAE National Cybersecurity Strategy and supports the country’s objective of building a competitive knowledge based economy by securing the digital infrastructure that underpins government services and private sector operations. The organizations stated that strengthening cybersecurity resilience is an important part of enabling innovation while supporting continued digital transformation across the country.
Commenting on the announcement, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, said building a secure future for the UAE requires a strong ecosystem of global partners and that the collaboration with Dell reflects a proactive commitment to advancing national digital capabilities and protecting critical infrastructure through advanced technologies. He added that the initiative forms part of the implementation of the UAE National Cybersecurity Strategy and supports the country’s ambition to become a global innovation hub where businesses can grow and citizens can confidently engage in digital services. Walid Yehia, Managing Director for South Gulf at Dell Technologies, said the collaboration combines Dell’s expertise from hardware to cloud technologies to provide an end to end approach to cyber resilience. He stated that the initiative will equip organizations with advanced cybersecurity solutions and skilled professionals to help them address evolving digital challenges while supporting the development of a secure and connected economy.
