Cybernet And Freedom Cloud Holding Sign MoU To Explore CASA Link Digital Connectivity Corridor

Pakistan’s fixed line telecommunications provider Cybernet and Kazakhstan based technology company Freedom Cloud Holding Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic cooperation opportunities for the development of the Central Asia South Asia Link, also referred to as CASA Link. The initiative is expected to establish a new digital connectivity route connecting South Asia with Europe through Central Asia, creating an additional terrestrial path for international telecommunications traffic. The agreement reflects growing regional interest in strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing connectivity resilience, and expanding cross border telecommunications capabilities across key geographic markets.

Freedom Cloud Holding Ltd., a Kazakhstan based technology holding company focused on cloud services, telecommunications, and digital infrastructure solutions, has partnered with Cybernet to evaluate opportunities linked to CASA Link as a strategic digital corridor. According to details shared by the organizations, the project is intended to create a new route for international data traffic between South Asia, Central Asia, and Europe. For telecom operators, the corridor may offer an alternative path for traffic exchange, helping service providers diversify routes, improve redundancy, reduce reliance on traditional connectivity pathways, and expand wholesale and transit related business opportunities. As digital demand continues increasing across regions, telecommunications companies are increasingly prioritizing infrastructure diversification to maintain network resilience and service continuity.

The CASA Link project is also expected to strengthen the role of Pakistan and Kazakhstan as regional digital gateways by connecting major regions through enhanced terrestrial infrastructure. Industry stakeholders believe that improved inter regional connectivity can support broader digital cooperation, facilitate international carrier partnerships, and contribute to new opportunities for digital businesses operating across telecommunications and cloud ecosystems. By linking South Asia with Europe through Central Asia, the initiative may contribute toward stronger infrastructure connectivity for businesses requiring reliable international bandwidth and lower dependency on limited international transit routes. The partnership reflects increasing collaboration between regional technology and telecommunications providers seeking to improve infrastructure availability and support growing digital economies.

The signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding took place at Cybernet’s regional office in Islamabad and was attended by representatives from both organizations. Representing Freedom Cloud Holding were Aiman Yemel, Director Carrier Business Development, and Maxum Niyazov, Head of Global Connectivity and Growth Department. Cybernet was represented by Chief Financial Officer Ghulam Mohiuddin FCA, Head of Carrier and International Business Umer Javed, and Head of Business Solutions and Presales Farrukh Ashfaq. The agreement highlights continued momentum around cross border digital infrastructure projects aimed at supporting regional integration, strengthening international telecommunications capabilities, and expanding opportunities for carriers and technology driven businesses across connected markets.
