Allied Bank Digital Banking Services Experience Nationwide Service Disruption

Allied Bank Digital Banking Services Experience Nationwide Service Disruption

Customers across Pakistan are experiencing widespread disruption to Allied Bank Limited (ABL) services after a major issue in the bank’s backend infrastructure affected multiple digital banking channels. The technical problem has left many customers unable to access their accounts or perform routine financial transactions through the bank’s online platforms. Users have reported that the myABL mobile application is unavailable, while several other banking services have also been impacted, causing inconvenience for individuals and businesses that depend on digital banking for daily financial activities. The latest disruption comes after Allied Bank also experienced a service interruption earlier in August, making this the second major outage reported within a short period.

The outage has affected several of Allied Bank’s key customer services at the same time. The myABL mobile banking application on both Android and iOS devices is currently inaccessible, while the myABL Internet Banking portal is also unavailable. In addition, the bank’s WhatsApp Banking service and standard local ATM network have been impacted, preventing customers from accessing self service banking channels. Customers attempting to sign in to the mobile application are consistently receiving a “Network Request Failed” message, indicating that login requests cannot be processed. At the same time, users seeking assistance through Allied Bank’s customer support helpline at 111 225 225 have reported dropped calls and difficulties establishing a connection, reportedly due to the unusually high volume of customer inquiries generated by the outage.

The disruption has also affected a wide range of financial services. Interbank Fund Transfers and internal account transfers are currently unavailable, preventing customers from sending or receiving money through Allied Bank’s digital platforms. Users have also reported problems transferring funds from external financial services, including Easypaisa, into their Allied Bank accounts. In addition, verification SMS messages and One Time Passwords required to authorize transactions are not being delivered successfully, making it difficult to complete secure banking activities. Customers have further reported that debit card transactions at retail Point of Sale terminals are being declined at multiple locations, while online purchases through e commerce platforms are also failing because payment authorization services remain unavailable. These interruptions have significantly affected customers who rely on digital banking for everyday payments, transfers, and account management. In addition to the reported service interruptions, some customers have also shared concerns regarding the duration of the outage on digital platforms. Several users have reported that the myABL mobile application and web portal have remained inaccessible for an extended period, with some claiming they have been unable to use the services for up to three days. Customers have also expressed frustration over difficulties receiving clear updates regarding the cause of the disruption and the expected restoration timeline. These reports reflect customer experiences shared during the ongoing service interruption, while Allied Bank has continued to communicate that technical teams are working to restore affected services.

Allied Bank has acknowledged the issue through an official push notification sent to customers under the title “Temporary Service Disruption.” In the notification, the bank stated, “Dear Customer, we are facing service degradation. Our teams are actively working to resolve the issue. Inconvenience caused is regretted.” The bank has advised customers to avoid making repeated login attempts while technical teams continue restoration efforts, as multiple unsuccessful login requests could temporarily trigger account security measures once services resume. Customers with urgent cash requirements have been advised to visit an operational Allied Bank branch while carrying valid physical identification documents because digital banking channels and self service ATM services remain affected. At the time of writing, Allied Bank has not announced a timeline for the complete restoration of services, and customers continue to await further updates regarding the resolution of the nationwide disruption.
