PKCERT CyberWatch Webinar Explores New Offensive Security Frontier With AI

National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) under PKCERT has announced the upcoming CyberWatch webinar series session focused on the changing landscape of offensive security and the role of emerging technologies in cybersecurity. Titled “The New Offensive Security Frontier: AI, Automation and Continuous Exposure,” the webinar will explore how offensive security practices are evolving and where artificial intelligence capabilities still face limitations. The session is part of National CERT’s capacity building initiatives aimed at strengthening cybersecurity knowledge and awareness among professionals, researchers, and technology communities across Pakistan. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, 27th October, from 07:00 PM to 08:00 PM, providing participants an opportunity to learn from an experienced cybersecurity professional.

The featured speaker for the session is Rafay Baloch, Founder and CEO of REDSECLABS, who is recognized internationally for his contributions to ethical hacking and cybersecurity research. During the webinar, he will discuss the growing role of AI and automation in offensive security, along with the challenges organizations face as cyber defense and attack techniques continue to evolve. The discussion will focus on how security professionals can understand new approaches in vulnerability discovery, testing methodologies, and continuous exposure management while recognizing the areas where AI based tools require human expertise and oversight. Through this session, National CERT aims to provide valuable insights into modern security practices and support professionals in developing stronger capabilities to address emerging cyber risks.

Rafay Baloch has gained global recognition for his cybersecurity research and has contributed to the discovery of significant security issues, including CVE 2014 6041, a same origin policy bypass vulnerability discovered in the Android Browser. His research has received coverage from international technology and cybersecurity platforms, including BBC, TechCrunch, and SC Media. He has also been recognized as a Pride of Pakistan awardee for his contributions to cybersecurity. In addition to his research work, Rafay Baloch has participated as a keynote speaker at international cybersecurity events, including Black Hat Asia, Hack In Paris, and CSAW.
