National Cyber Security Academy (NCSA) and National Centre for Cyber Security (NCCS) at Air University hosted a delegation of students and faculty members from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) as part of an academic engagement focused on cybersecurity education, research, and institutional collaboration. The visit provided participants with an opportunity to explore the facilities and capabilities available at Air University while gaining a deeper understanding of the initiatives being undertaken by NCSA and NCCS to support cybersecurity development and capacity building in Pakistan.
During the visit, the GIKI delegation toured several key facilities at NCSA and NCCS, including the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), where they were introduced to the university cybersecurity infrastructure, operational environment, and research activities. The tour offered participants an overview of how the institutions are supporting cybersecurity education through practical learning environments and research driven initiatives. The delegation was also briefed on the operational capabilities of the Cyber Security Operations Center and its role in providing students and researchers with exposure to real world cybersecurity practices. The visit enabled faculty members and students from GIKI to observe the technologies, laboratories, and operational resources that contribute to cybersecurity research and academic training at Air University. By showcasing these facilities, NCSA and NCCS highlighted their efforts to strengthen technical expertise and prepare future cybersecurity professionals capable of addressing evolving digital security challenges.
The program also featured presentations by Prof. Dr. Zunera Jalil, Dean of National Cyber Security Academy, and Prof. Dr. Ghalib A. Shah, Director of National Centre for Cyber Security. During their presentations, both speakers outlined the vision and objectives of their respective institutions while discussing the academic programs, ongoing research activities, and contributions being made toward advancing cybersecurity education and innovation in Pakistan. The sessions provided attendees with detailed insights into the research ecosystem established at Air University and demonstrated how NCSA and NCCS are supporting the development of skilled cybersecurity professionals through education, collaborative research, and capacity building initiatives.
