Safe City Islamabad and Islamabad Police have announced the search for a Chief Information Security Officer, CISO, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity operations, enhance digital resilience, and improve the protection of critical digital infrastructure. The role is intended to support the development and oversight of security frameworks that align with modern cybersecurity requirements and operational demands within law enforcement and smart city environments.
The position calls for professionals with a strong academic and technical background in computer science or information technology, requiring at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or IT. Candidates must also hold a recognized cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or an equivalent qualification, reflecting the need for validated expertise in security practices and governance. In addition to academic and certification requirements, applicants are expected to have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, particularly in areas such as Security Operations Center, SOC, management, incident response handling, cybersecurity governance, and protection of critical infrastructure systems. The role emphasizes leadership in managing security operations that are essential to safeguarding digital systems supporting public safety and urban infrastructure.
The CISO position is designed to play a central role in guiding cybersecurity strategy and ensuring the effective implementation of security policies across Safe City Islamabad and Islamabad Police digital ecosystems.
