Telenor Pakistan Observes Security Day 2025 Highlighting AI, Awareness, And Cyber Resilience

Telenor Pakistan observed Security Day 2025, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to fostering a strong culture of security, awareness, and resilience across all departments. The annual event brought together employees from diverse functions for a full day of interactive discussions, learning sessions, and hands-on activities, emphasizing that cybersecurity is not limited to technical experts but is a collective responsibility shared by every member of the organization.

This year’s Security Day carried a special focus on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in shaping modern cybersecurity practices. Senior leadership from Telenor Group’s Global Business Security division attended the event, including Terje Jensen, SVP Global Business Security, Oystein Mikkelsen, VP Security Strategy Assurance, Andreas Dennerhed, Head of Service Fraud and Security Operations, and Ahmad Wajid, Senior Advisor Strategy Execution. Their presence underscored the importance of global collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges and strengthening organizational defenses through shared expertise and best practices.

The event opened with remarks by Awais Vohra, Chief Technology Officer of Telenor Pakistan, who spoke about the growing importance of cybersecurity in an era increasingly defined by AI integration. He highlighted that the line between offense and defense in digital security is rapidly changing, requiring organizations to stay agile and informed. A panel discussion titled “AI vs AI – Preparing for Adversaries” further explored this theme, examining how artificial intelligence is being leveraged by both defenders and attackers, and the need for adaptive strategies to counter evolving digital threats.

Interactive learning remained a key feature of the event, with sessions designed to engage employees beyond theoretical knowledge. Activities such as a live social engineering demonstration, a competitive security quiz, and a Cyber Escape Room Challenge encouraged participants to apply their understanding of digital risks in real-time scenarios. These exercises were aimed at deepening awareness of how human behavior intersects with cybersecurity and how simple preventive measures can mitigate complex threats.

As the day concluded, Telenor Pakistan recognized its internal “security champions” — employees and stakeholders who demonstrated exceptional dedication to safeguarding the company’s information assets and promoting security-first thinking within their teams. The recognition ceremony served as a reminder that cybersecurity success depends as much on human vigilance as on advanced technology.

Through Security Day 2025, Telenor Pakistan reinforced its vision of maintaining a robust and inclusive security framework that evolves with technological change. The initiative not only highlighted the growing role of AI in defense strategies but also strengthened the organization’s commitment to embedding security awareness as a cornerstone of its digital transformation journey.
