Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has conducted a comprehensive Information Security training session for its employees as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and promote the secure use of information technology resources across the organization. The training was organized to enhance employees’ understanding of current cybersecurity trends and provide practical knowledge on information security procedures that support the safe operation of digital systems and services. Managed by Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) PITB with the support of Software Engineering Wing and IT Infrastructure Wing, the initiative reflects PITB’s continued focus on building cybersecurity capacity within its workforce through structured learning and professional development.
The training was delivered by PITB Chief Information Security Officer Sajjad Ghani, Project Director Haroon Rasul Khokhar, and Director Data Center Haroon Rasheed, who shared guidance on key information security practices and the importance of maintaining a secure digital working environment. CTO Adil Iqbal Khan and other senior officials also attended the session, highlighting the organization’s commitment to strengthening cybersecurity awareness at every level. During the training, participants were introduced to essential information security procedures that support the safe handling of organizational systems, digital resources, and information assets. The sessions were designed to familiarize employees with current cybersecurity developments while reinforcing the importance of following established security practices during day to day operations. By providing employees with practical knowledge and updated guidance, the initiative aims to reduce operational risks and encourage a stronger culture of cybersecurity throughout the organization.
