National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) of Pakistan has successfully conducted a five day Project Management Professional (PMP) training program for government officials as part of its capacity building initiatives. The training was organized by the Capacity Building Directorate with the aim of strengthening professional competencies, improving project management capabilities, and supporting effective leadership across government institutions.
The training program brought together 41 government employees representing different ministries, divisions, and attached departments. During the sessions, participants received training on internationally recognized project management principles and practices covering various aspects of project execution and management. The program included topics such as project planning and initiation, scope management, schedule management, cost and resource management, risk management, stakeholder engagement, quality management, procurement processes, project communication, leadership, team management, and monitoring and control of project performance.
National CERT stated that the training sessions were designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills required for managing projects more effectively within their respective organizations. The program featured expert led lectures, practical exercises, case studies, project management simulations, group activities, real world project scenarios, and collaborative discussions. Participants actively engaged with instructors throughout the sessions and demonstrated interest in enhancing their understanding of project management practices and improving project delivery processes within government institutions.
At the closing ceremony, Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building, distributed certificates of participation among the attendees and appreciated their dedication and active involvement during the training program. He highlighted the importance of effective project management in achieving institutional objectives and ensuring successful implementation of public sector initiatives. Through its Capacity Building programs, National CERT continues to focus on developing skilled professionals, strengthening institutional capabilities, and promoting effective planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects across government organizations. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to support a secure and digitally enabled transformation by improving professional capabilities within the public sector.
