ISA Pakistan Section Announces OT Cybersecurity Technical Webinar With Razi Farooqui

ISA Pakistan Section has announced a technical webinar titled “OT Cybersecurity: Emerging Directions and Developments in OT Cybersecurity,” aimed at professionals interested in strengthening security across operational technology environments. The online session is scheduled for Saturday, 5 September 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time. The webinar will feature Razi Farooqui, Senior OT Cybersecurity Team Lead, as the guest speaker. Organizers have invited participants to register through the QR code provided with the event announcement or through the registration link available in the event description.

The webinar will focus on the evolving priorities within operational technology cybersecurity and the need to assess cyber risks using approaches that extend beyond traditional vulnerability based methods. According to the event details, the session will explain why OT cybersecurity risk analysis should begin with understanding operational consequences rather than simply measuring the number of identified vulnerabilities. This approach is intended to help organizations better evaluate the potential operational impact of cyber incidents affecting industrial systems and critical infrastructure. The session will introduce participants to Consequence Based Risk Analysis and Cyber Informed Engineering, two methodologies designed to improve the understanding of cyber risks in environments where operational continuity and safety are essential.

Another key topic of the webinar will be the application of cybersecurity safeguards within the IEC 62443 framework. Participants will learn how security controls can be mapped to IEC 62443 Zones, Conduits, and Security Levels to establish structured protection strategies for industrial control systems and operational technology environments. The session is expected to provide practical insights into aligning cybersecurity measures with recognized industry standards while supporting organizations in developing more effective security architectures for critical operational assets. By combining consequence focused analysis with engineering principles, the webinar aims to demonstrate how organizations can better prioritize security measures based on operational impact and system resilience.

Razi Farooqui brings experience in operational technology cybersecurity and holds professional certifications including CISSP, CISM, and CDPSE. During the one hour session, attendees will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of current developments in OT cybersecurity and explore approaches that can strengthen industrial cyber resilience through structured risk analysis and standards based security implementation. Through this technical webinar, ISA Pakistan Section continues its efforts to provide knowledge sharing opportunities for cybersecurity professionals, engineers, and technology practitioners interested in operational technology security, industrial control systems, and evolving cybersecurity practices relevant to critical infrastructure and industrial environments.
