National CERT has officially launched its Summer Internship Program 2026, welcoming some of Pakistan’s most talented students and graduates to participate in national cybersecurity initiatives. The program is designed to provide practical learning opportunities while supporting the country’s efforts to strengthen its cybersecurity ecosystem and develop a highly skilled workforce. This year’s internship program attracted an exceptional level of interest from across Pakistan, reflecting the growing enthusiasm among young professionals to pursue careers in cybersecurity and contribute to national digital resilience.
According to National CERT, approximately 50,000 applications were received from students and graduates nationwide for the Summer Internship Program 2026. After completing a rigorous merit based selection process, only around one percent of applicants secured a place in the program, making it one of the country’s most competitive internship opportunities. The high number of applications demonstrates the increasing demand for practical cybersecurity training and highlights the expanding interest in careers focused on protecting critical digital infrastructure. By selecting a limited number of candidates through a transparent evaluation process, National CERT aims to ensure that participants possess the skills, commitment, and potential required to contribute effectively to projects of national importance. The internship also reflects the organization’s continued investment in developing local cybersecurity talent capable of supporting Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape.
During the internship, selected participants will receive hands on exposure to a broad range of national level cybersecurity initiatives under the guidance of experienced professionals at National CERT. Their training will cover cyber defense, threat intelligence, digital forensics, governance, risk and compliance, security operations, research and development, cyber policy, and capacity building. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that strengthen Pakistan’s cyber resilience while gaining practical experience in addressing real world cybersecurity challenges. Through direct involvement in operational and research activities, participants will develop technical knowledge and professional skills that can support future careers in cybersecurity.
