PVARA And Huawei Explore Cybersecurity And Digital Exchange Infrastructure Cooperation In Pakistan

A senior delegation from Huawei Technologies met with Bilal Bin Saqib, Minister of State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), at his office in Islamabad to discuss cooperation in cybersecurity and digital exchange infrastructure. The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan’s emerging virtual asset ecosystem through improved security frameworks and advanced technological support, reflecting a shared interest in building a secure and structured digital financial environment.

During the discussions, both sides reviewed the evolving requirements of Pakistan’s cybersecurity infrastructure as it relates to digital assets and virtual exchanges. Attention was given to Huawei’s international experience in cybersecurity assurance mechanisms, cryptographic systems, and compliance oriented frameworks that align with global standards. The dialogue also covered the increasing role of advanced cloud systems, artificial intelligence, and data driven infrastructure in supporting secure and scalable digital exchange platforms. These components were highlighted as critical elements for ensuring operational stability and resilience in an expanding digital asset landscape.

Chairman Bilal Bin Saqib underscored that Pakistan’s digital exchange infrastructure must be developed on foundations of cyber resilience, consumer protection, and regulatory integrity. He noted that PVARA’s regulatory framework is structured to support a secure environment for virtual asset growth while also positioning the country as a competitive jurisdiction in the regional digital economy. The emphasis was placed on creating systems that not only support innovation but also ensure that risk management and compliance requirements remain central to the sector’s development.

The Huawei delegation, led by Ahmed Bilal Masud, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei’s AI and Cloud Business, expressed its willingness to support Pakistan’s objectives as an industry collaborator. The team outlined Huawei’s expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence integration, cloud based infrastructure development, and cybersecurity architecture design. Additional members of the delegation, including Corey Deng, Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Officer for the Middle East and Central Asia, along with Adnan Adhami, Saad Saeed Talha, and Lydia Zhang, participated in the discussions, contributing perspectives on secure digital systems and international best practices for protecting digital financial ecosystems.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to continue technical discussions aimed at exploring structured cooperation mechanisms in the coming months. Areas identified for further engagement include cybersecurity enhancement strategies, digital exchange infrastructure development, and integration of advanced technologies to support regulatory and operational requirements within Pakistan’s virtual asset framework.
