Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has announced an opening for a full-time Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to be based in Punjab, Pakistan. The position seeks a senior cybersecurity professional to oversee the authority’s entire information security strategy and operations. The CISO will play a critical role in developing and implementing comprehensive security policies, managing cyber risks, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, and driving initiatives that strengthen PSCA’s digital resilience. The appointment underscores PSCA’s commitment to advancing secure and efficient digital governance frameworks across its operational ecosystem.

The selected candidate will be responsible for formulating an enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy and ensuring its alignment with both local and international benchmarks such as ISO, GDPR, NIST, and PCI-DSS. The CISO will also lead the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) programs, manage internal and external security audits, and design robust network architectures that incorporate advanced safeguards like firewalls and intrusion prevention systems. In addition, the role will oversee the deployment of cutting-edge security technologies such as Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems, among others.

A major part of the CISO’s mandate will include proactive risk assessment and incident management. This involves conducting regular vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and implementing incident response plans that ensure swift investigation, containment, recovery, and reporting of security events. The individual will lead cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives within the organization, fostering a culture of vigilance and accountability among PSCA staff. As the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and external partners, the CISO will ensure timely coordination and transparency in all cybersecurity matters, while keeping executive leadership informed on the organization’s security posture and mitigation strategies.

Candidates applying for the role are required to hold at least 16 years of education in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with preference for candidates possessing a Master’s or PhD. A top-tier certification such as CISSP or CCISO is mandatory, while additional credentials including CISA, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, or ISO certifications will be considered advantageous. Applicants must bring a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience, including at least three to five years in a senior leadership position. Proven expertise in managing SOC operations, GRC frameworks, digital forensics, and security testing is essential, alongside strong command over emerging technologies and AI-related threats.

The position offers a competitive salary of up to PKR 500,000, comprehensive health insurance coverage for all family members up to PKR 500,000 each, and transport benefits in line with PSCA regulations. Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resumes to To-Recruitment@psca.gop.pk with a copy to Ali.haziq@psca.gop.pk.
