The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has raised alarm over the escalating frequency of cyberattacks, which are severely impacting the country’s economy and businesses.
In a joint statement, LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad, Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman, and Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry expressed deep concern over the growing threat posed by hackers. They highlighted the urgent need for robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard digital platforms and protect sensitive information.
“Cyberattacks are undermining trust, compromising privacy, and causing significant financial damage to the business community,” said Mian Abuzar Shad. He emphasized the imperative for authorities to take decisive action against cybercriminals, urging them to apprehend and penalize those responsible.
Engineer Khalid Usman underscored the crucial role of secure digital communication in modern business operations.

He called for the government to introduce comprehensive policies to strengthen cybersecurity measures and protect digital platform users.
Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry stressed the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and cybersecurity experts to combat the growing threat of cybercrime. He also advocated for awareness campaigns to educate the public about online safety. “Prevention through education and vigilance is the key to reducing cybercrime,” he said, urging businesses and individuals to remain cautious.
